BrightStar cu@school Student Tellers

Students enrolled in Economics & Financial Services Honors or Accounting Honors have the opportunity to be trained as BrightStar cu@school Student Tellers, an incredible experience and resume-booster!

This is an actual, live, working branch. JPT student and faculty Credit Union members may make deposits, withdrawals and handle other basic transactions at the branch. BrightStar Membership is FREE, and all JPT students are encouraged to open a BrightStar Savings Account to save toward their short and long-term financial goals.  For more information about opening a BrightStar Account, click here.

Special Thanks to BrightStar Credit Union for creating this wonderful program!

Things to do if you want to be a cu@school teller:

In order to be a BrightStar student teller, here are the requirements:
  • Be a student in either Mrs. Acosta's Economics & Financial Services Honors class or Mrs. Wilder's Accounting Honors class.

  • Maintain at least a 3.0 GPA

  • If necessary, agree to give up your lunch period on the days you work as a teller (you may bring a snack to eat when the credit union is not busy, but you will not have time to sit with your friends); if you work during your Study Hall period, this may not be necessary.

  • Be trustworthy, respectful and coachable!  You are here to learn, but this is a REAL position, handling REAL member financial transactions!

  • Wear an AOF Green Polo (along with business casual pants or a skirt) when you work at the Credit Union.
Steps to apply:

1.  Download, print and complete the Teller Application.  Be sure to fill it out completely in blue or black ink! Bring this with you to Teller Meeting!

2.  Attend the MANDATORY TELLER MEETING (Check the calendar below for this year's date)

3.  Add this calendar to your Google Calendar app (on your smartphone or on your computer) so you will know when it is your turn to work!

4.  Purchase or borrow an Academy of Finance polo shirt, which must be worn when you are on duty. Information will be provided.
